With Chase apologizing to Taylor for the way he acted at the prom after-party and Clay and Chrissy tighter than ever, it seems like everything in Newport Harbor is finally peaceful.

Now, with graduation just around the corner, the seniors are preparing to say goodbye to high school. Unfortunately for Chrissy, that means having to decide what to do about her junior boyfriend Clay. While Sasha and Chrissy are talking about how much they are looking forward to heading to college, Chrissy says she knows things aren’t going to get very serious with Clay since there isn’t much time left before she leaves.

Out shopping, Samantha asks Allie if she’s going to be able to go to Europe. Allie says she’s fighting an uphill battle against her parents and feels like they’re never going to give in to her demands. She’s worried she’s going to be stuck in Newport Harbor for the summer and forced to deal with all the Chase drama.

Meanwhile, Grant and Clay are at the beach playing a game of bocce when Grant asks Clay if he sealed the deal with Chrissy during their hot tub date. Clay tells Grant to worry about his own lady problems and says he plans on asking Chrissy what their status is going to be after she leaves for college.

At home, Allie approaches her father for a second time about Europe. She starts off with an apology about her previous temper tantrum and tells him she wants to go to Europe to gain a new sense of maturity and prove that she can take care of herself. Her father says that he and her mother are just concerned about Allie’s safety but are willing to give it some more thought.

That night, Chrissy and Clay head out for a dinner date and Clay admits he’s going to be bummed when Chrissy leaves for college. When Chrissy asks if he thinks they can stay together while she’s away, Clay says he wants to make their relationship work.

The next day Chrissy gets scolded by her father for breaking curfew the night before. When she tells him she was hanging out with Clay, he asks what will happen to their relationship when she leaves for college. When Chrissy says they plan on keeping things going, her father tells her that long distance relationships don’t usually work. But Chrissy seems convinced that she and Clay can make it happen.

After hearing that Chase got back together with Taylor, Allie stops by Chase’s work. Since Chase will be going off to college and Taylor, who is only a sophomore, will be staying in Newport Harbor, Allie wonders how much longer their relationship will last. Getting down to business, Allie tells Chase that she and Samantha are planning a bonfire at the beach for all the seniors and some of their close junior friends. Although Chase is invited, Taylor isn’t.

As Allie and Samantha head to the beach to start the bonfire they talk about how surreal it is that they’re graduating the next day. After setting everything up, they are both surprised to see Chase and Taylor approaching the bonfire. Awkward! As Chase and Taylor kiss, Allie looks on and prays that her parents allow her to go to Europe so that her summer isn’t ruined.

As the night rolls on, Chrissy gets a phone call from her father telling her to come home. But because it’s the night before graduation, Chrissy puts her foot down and refuses to head home. Then, Grant holds a torch up to the sky and toasts all the seniors, wishing them a happy graduation and a great time in college. Although Allie had a rough night, overall the bonfire is a success.

The next morning, everyone gets ready for graduation. Sasha gives Chrissy a diamond ring from Tiffany’s to commemorate their friendship while Allie’s parents reveal that, as her graduation gift, they’re allowing her to travel to Europe. As the caps and gowns go on, the end of an era becomes a reality for these Newport Harbor seniors.
